Beautyfull place to stay and the only resort on Siau island, great beach for snorkeling and chilling. Food is great and the owner Ayu is very nice.

Don't waste your money!!!! The "resort" offers nothing different then the hotel at the port, except for bad service and disappointment. What you see in the pictures is not what you see when you arrive there. The beach is full of rocks and impossible to go in the water for a swim. The vegetation in the place is extremely poorly maintained and most of the area looks like its still a construction site. The overall feel we got from the "resort" is that they don't really care of the guests experience. They do the minimal effort and minimal upkeep. For that price, every other resort we have been to gave us above expectation service and experience. Not in Kalea! Transportation from the port to the "resort" is between 20 and 40. Ayu, the owner charges every guest a different amount. Also, Ayu told us transportation back to the port will be free but it was not. The employees in the "resort" burn the trash in the premises on the "resort", including plastics. We had the luxury of eating breakfast while thick unhealthy smoke covering the entire place for 2 hours. The middle portion of the "resort" is dedicated for laundry drying on ropes. At night, there are no lights between the dining area and the rooms. Also there are no lights infront of the rooms. My wife and kids were afraid to walk around there after sundown.
