Batu tulis is a sacred stone in Telaga Warna. This stone is also called Batu Semar because it looks like Semar's face (God in Javanese puppet stories). This stone is located on the edge of the Telaga Warna and near from sacred cave areas such as Jaran Cave and Semar Cave. This stone region becomes a series of Dieng dreadlocks child hair cutting processions. Batu Tulis (Batu Semar) is located inside the Telaga Warna area. According to local myths, the stone can provide fluency for children who are learning to write if their parents pray here.

Batu Tulis merupakan batu besar yang berada di ‘pulau’ di tengah Telaga Warna dan Telaga Pengilon. Konon jika orangtua yang memiliki anak yang belum bisa membaca, memohon kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa di batu ini, maka kemudian anaknya akan segera bisa membaca.
