Spent a good couple of hours here. Guided tour was really informative explaining the history & use of the various areas. The restoration of the pools & buildings etc gives you an indication of the sheer scale & beauty of the Royal Palace when it was originally in use. Beautiful stone carvings adorned walls & arches. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to such a jewel of a Palace at the heart of Yogyakarta.

Pretty cool place. However, due to COVID-19, you cannot see it by yourself. You have to form a group of at least 5, and then do the tour with a guide.
Beautiful picturesque Palace & Fortifications. Knowledgeable guide gave a running commentary as we toured round giving the history & details of who built & occupied this amazing place through the centuries. The sheer scale of the original site breathtaking. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
This is a beautiful historical garden of the Mataram Yogyakarta sultanate, with large swimming pools, a castle, and underground tunnels connecting it to other parts of the palace complex. On my last visit on a weekday afternoon, I and my family came here to celebrate my wife's graduation, but it was closed. The parking lot was still open. We got nice pictures on the rooftop and stairs of the gate, and along the compound alleys and the underground channels.
A great place to visit when you visit Jogja. Ticket : Rp.15.000 (including guide tour)
Very interesting visit, but probably best early in the morning to avoid the heat.
Gorgeous historical site with amazing views. On pandemic they currently only allows within tour guide entrance with nice service and information.
