I had a very bad experience on pricing on goods in Carrefour. I believe they have no sense of market comparison of product. And the price difference is very huge and unbelievable sometimes. I am living in batam for the 5 years and Carrefour is my nearest supermarket as well Two times I had similar experiences; first time with kitchen tissue (3x long) which priced 29-32kIDR in entire batam (even in small shops) Carrefour priced it 42kIDR. And when I contacted the customer care also the manager he took two weeks to figure out what was went wrong from their side. And from that day onwards I didn’t see specific tissue role in Carrefour shelf for 2 months. In fact the manager said he is checking with Jakarta pricing team and for sure I know this is some sort of pricing mistakes and no one in ground level checking these prices. Second time I had similar issue with muchys chocolate biscuits, most supermarkets are rating this item in 17-20 kIDR, Carrefour price it 29k IDR ; as usual I again contacted the manager and he took two days to check the case and came back with blended justification that Carrefour is getting this biscuits from third party that’s the reason it’s priced it high. I am damn sure that Carrefour has good agenda on pricing it intentionally and to provide some fake discount in other commodities. But for sure we need to be very careful on choosing items from them I have learned a good lesson from this two. My advice to those who customer of Carrefour, please be careful on item pricing in and need to choosy by the pricing. And if Carrefour xxx manager is reading this then I have a request please be careful with your pricing and do not squeeze customers hard; by doing decent pricing you will surely can retain the good customers.

Strategic mall, located in the centre of the city. Sell many things and so spacious. Fresh meal also available here. I ussually buy a bottle of honey here

Just an average large supermarket but at least 10% more expensive then hypermarkt. Bread is the best on the island. The coke zero is always sold out they do not sell real cheese! Carrefour is french, shame on you Carrefour!
