Raffles Independent School is a fully accredited Cambridge International School in East Kalimantan. It is a privately funded school that serves the educational needs of our expat and local families in Balikpapan to provide an excellent, international education that enables students to acquire the critical and creative thinking skills, academic knowledge, personal attributes, values, cultural awareness plus international qualifications. Raffles is developed to create future leaders and future global citizens. Our teaching programs and co-curricular activities are designed to let students achieve international, cross-cultural and interfaith understanding and environmental awareness. Our students undergo holistic, experiential, active and purposeful learning and develop strong self-respect and respect for others, good communication skills, cooperation skills, creativity, self-esteem, and self-reliance. Raffles International School aims to make changes in the education world, to teach and maintain eastern values in western techniques so it can create maximum results in the students. Raffles ensures that students are happy while developing a sense of responsibility and direction that will help them to be successful both in school and beyond. We are currently funded by private funds and will be initiating a fund raising program in Australia to help fund a new building for our children. The new facility will also be used to support our CSR works in this region.
