On 28 August 2017, 21 local communities in Yogyakarta which have a diverse background of issues have gathered to declare their commitment to form this collaboration platform by implementing the Global Goals deeper in their activities. This platform called Jogja SDGS. Originally initiated by World Merit Yogyakarta, now we stand independent and aims to localize the Global Goals for youth-led local initiatives who already support it by doing their activities but haven't known yet the story behind it. We are working by localizing the Global Goals to be understood under the local initiative, then can be implemented more simply in their activities. We also using transnational activism and the globalization process to connect these local communities with similar movement outside the country under the Global Goals understanding. Background: Even though the Global Goals is universal by its substance, many of the people do not know how it can be relevance among their life and activities, especially in Yogyakarta, Indonesia Vision: We want to achieve 2030's globals targets in Yogyakarta with the Global Goals that already localized into the society's mindset Mission We want to align the Global Goals with the local initiative by engaging many of grassroots local communities in Yogyakarta as the representative of society'​ concern. Commitment We formed Jogja SDGs Community as a collaboration platform for the youth-led local communities and local initiatives in Yogyakarta who already support the Global Goals'​ substance but lack of knowledge about it.
