Banggai Regency, Indonesia
Lobu

Covered Timber Bridge crossing over Lobu River. Tin roofed. Dimension 2,75m x 150 m. Span east - west A rare structure of it's kind in Indonesia. When I took the picture in 2007, it was still in operation, but there is already a new steel truss bridge structure at the proximity. It's surrounded by rural area with fresh air worth to visit. Built by Dutch on 30 November 1940, the bridge located at a small village Lobu, Central Sulawesi. The bridge spanned east-west is at the main route of Trans Sulawesi, connected Bunta to Luwuk, about 600 Km from Palu, the capital city of Central Sulawesi. Still in a good condition, family car & small truck can pass through, but some part of the tin roof at the west side, already damage.
