Indonesian Mining Association was founded in May 29, 1975, a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit organization established in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.The headquarters and registered office of the association shall be situated within Jakarta. The association serves as a link between Government and the mining industry, organizing lectures, seminars and training activities for the members, organizing periodic conference on mining in Indonesia, publishes proceedings and mining information, and represents the indonesian mining industry at national and international meetings. IMA is a founding member for the Asean Federation of Mining Association (AFMA) and currently provides the secretariat for the Federation.
