Happy Hearts Indonesia rebuilds safe-resilient schools in areas impacted by natural disasters. We are active in 5 regions in Indonesia and since 2006 have rebuilt more than 132 schools. Happy Hearts Indonesia is also dedicated to helping communities in less-privileged areas by renovating/rebuilding schools and enable children to receive a better education and future. We believe that education is not only the avenue to defeat poverty but also brings hope and opportunity to the children of Indonesia. By providing education we help not only those we touch directly but also the many they touch thus breaking the bonds of poverty and promoting real economic growth for all. Background Happy Hearts Fund was founded by Petra Nemcova in 2005 to restore hope and opportunities to children affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami; It received its 501(c)(3) status in 2006 with the vision of rebuilding schools and the lives of children after natural disasters. Since then we have globally rebuilt more than 180 schools and are active in more than 10 countries. In early 2013 Happy Hearts opened its first international chapter with Happy Hearts Indonesia. HHI is a fully registered non-profit in Indonesia with the goal to add local expertise and funds. We invite individuals, companies, communities and other institutions to partner with us in helping children receiving a better education by providing safe school buildings and proper facilities. You can support us through funding and donate your time as a volunteer in our schools and on-the-ground projects.
