Good for kids
Visited this place on the way to Berastagi. It is quite impressive. Palace is well-maintained. It was the home of the Simalungan Batak chiefs until the last one died in 1947. It has a very nice landscape too.

Place is free to enter but there's a lot of work to be done as the place looks neglected. Not much to be seen by visitors. Not worth the visit if you're short on time.
One of the historical heritage of the existence of Simalungun kingdom that still exists today. Unfortunately the main building is already damaged and porous. Public (especially Simalungunese) and local government intervention is needed to preserve this historic building.
