Gaia Indonesia, legally registered as PT Gaia Eko Daya Buana, is an Indonesian consulting company based in Jakarta. As our name reflects our philosophy in ecological system, Gaia (the Goddess of Earth) focuses our services in delivering innovative solution in sustainable natural resources management. Our approach that combines spatial analysis, ecological modeling, social development, and valuing climate services, is supported with experienced human resources including anthropologist, forester, biologist, soil scientist, and GIS & Remote Sensing experts. Gaia have been supporting clients in finding solution for green development in natural resources management sector. In the past four years (2014-2018), Gaia has been working on, but not limited to, (a) developing sustainable community-based forest management, (b) improving institutional capacity, (c) developing knowledge management system on community forest, (d) due diligence of forestry investment, and (e) biodiversity and forest carbon assessments. All of those projects are designed to pass the national and international standards requirement and adopting the safeguards set by the IFC performance standards (2012). The Gaia selected projects are as follows: 1. Improving Community Livelihood Through Ecosystem Rehabilitation with Sustainable Agroforest and Low Carbon Emissions in Central Lombok. 2. Rehabilitation the upper Ciliwung watershed through improved community-based agroforestry systems, Cisarua, Bogor, West Java. 3. Social-economy and ethnography study in an ecosystem restoration concession, Ogan Komering Ilir, South Sumatera. 4. Due diligence on carbon project investment in South Sumatera. 5. Biodiversity assessment in a peat forest for REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) project concession. 6. Institutional Capacity Building for Batang Gadis National Park Personnel. 7. Biodiversity assessment, social economy and ethnography study in Muria Landscape, Kudus, Central Java.
