We are a social enterprise established in 2016 specifically to address energy access issues in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific region. Through our own Rural Economic Development Delivery Model (RED-DM), we de-risk energy access investments in rural communities. The RED-DM relies on three pillars: - participatory based methodologies and observatory triangulation for business model development - Implement appropriate innovative technologies including a smart modular minigrid system we are developing ourselves - Ongoing technical operation and maintenance, community training, and facilitation of income generating productive use of energy Unlike project developers, we are driven by understanding the rural communities, their motivations and needs, local resources available and cultural sensitivities related to the success of energy access projects. Through our RED-DM, we develop business models for each energy investment tranches that addresses general and specific risks to those projects. In order to fund our activities, we provide consulting services to clients and 100% of the profits are used to assist rural communities with their energy needs. Some of our consulting activities included site surveys, GIS based least cost electrification planning, business model development for rural electrification projects, project development support activities and many others. Having surveyed over 500 villages and designing/implementing/managing minigrids with over 5,000 beneficiaries, we have the skills, knowledge and experiences to help others de-risk energy access investments. To date we've worked with many donor agencies, development agencies, government entities, and private sector clients in rural electrification and energy access projects.
